Our Mission: TheMednet is a physician-only question and answer platform that connects the world’s top academic physicians with the most innovative technology to share knowledge that improves care for patients across the country. TheMednet was started in 2014 and includes over 20,000 physicians in oncology, rheumatology, neurology, dermatology, and pulmonology, with cardiology and nephrology coming soon. TheMednet was featured in Inc. Magazine as one of the companies changing the future of medicine.
Our Founders: We are a physician and engineer from Yale and MIT, respectively. We founded theMednet after our father, also a physician, was diagnosed with cancer and we realized how difficult it was to know what to do when the answers are not found in textbooks, guidelines, or UpToDate, but rather trapped in the heads of experts. We created theMednet to document expert knowledge and give physicians everywhere access to that knowledge.
Our Team: Our team includes 4 full time physicians who are former Residency and Fellowship Program Directors and engineers from Google, Snapchat, and Microsoft. We are all innovative, optimistic, and mission-driven.
Our Culture: Our culture is shaped by our mission and values. Our values are: 1) Doctors First, 2) Have a Can-Do Attitude, 3) Take Ownership, and 4) Treat Each Other Right. Our first value is our most important- any decision we make must start by asking whether we are helping physicians make better decisions for their patients.
Our Partnerships: We have received both public and private funding from the most respected organizations in health and technology such as the National Science Foundation, Y Combinator, The SWOG Hope Foundation, and the Bonnie Addario Lung Cancer Foundation. We partner with organizations similarly committed to research, education, and high quality care including the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American College of Rheumatology (ACR), and the American Neurological Association (ANA).
theMednet is looking for an academic neurologist to join our team of engineers and academic physicians. You would be working with friendly, like-minded peers who are passionate about medical education and improving patient care. We are an ego-free environment and are laser focused on our mission of helping physicians deliver the best care to their patients. We are located in New York City, but there is potential to work remotely if needed. One day out of the week or one week of every 6 weeks may be used for direct patient care. The physicians at theMednet maintain their faculty appointments and clinical practices 1 day/week.
The Medical Director will head content, engagement, and expansion of our neurology section and adjacent specialties. He or she will establish relationships with physicians all over the country, establish new engagement and educational initiatives, and oversee the editorial process and speciality expansion.
